Nebraska State Accountability (NeSA)--Writing, Reading, Mathematics, ScienceAs required in the amended Quality Education Accountability Act, 79-760, the Nebraska Department of Education has been building new state tests for the purposes of comparative accountability. There are now four state tests administered to Nebraska students: NeSA-Reading, Math, Writing, and Science. Students in grades 4, 8 and 11 participate in the NeSA-Writing assessment. This assessment will be administered January 23-February 10, 2012. Students will write in a specified writing mode: grade 4, personal narrative; grade 8, descriptive; and grade 11, persuasive.
Students in grades 3-8 and 11 participate in the NeSA-Reading and Mathematics assessments. The 2011-2012 school year is the first year for the operational science test. Students in grades 5, 8 and 11 participate in the NeSA- Science assessment. The window for the administration of these assessments is March 26-May 4, 2012. |
